The Clone Wars Continue - At the end of Star Wars: Episode 2 we saw the beginning on the CLone Wars, which will rage on until Episode 3 in 2005. With these comic collections, we get to see all the big battles that happen between films. In this collection its the lead up too and battle of Kamino (the watery cloning planet from episode 2). We see Jedi in undercover roles, evil conspiracies, lightsaber fights and the SAS-style ARC Troopers. Everything you need for a great set of stories. Also included is a story featuring Mace Windu, who goes on a mission to stop the Jedi drifting apart.Overall, a must read that sets an excellent standard for following collections.
The Clone Wars begin in style. - THE STORY:Five actually! In the first the Jedi Quinlan Vos discovers a Seperatist plan to attack Kamino. The next shows Anakin and Obi-Wan leading the defence of Kamino and it s clone factories. The third has Jedi Master Shaak Ti and an ARC Trooper trying to defend the latest generation of clones against overwhelming odds. Then there is a story from the point of view of a Separatist commander. In the final story, Mace Windu is sent to meet with a group of Jedi who refuse to fight for the Republic.WHAT S GOOD:The Jedi squadrons led by Obi-Wan and Anakin brilliant, for starters. The Jango Fett-like ARC Troopers are another excellent idea, allowing Clone Trooper characters who aren t wooden. I also liked the fact that the Mon Calamari (heroes of the Rebellion) are fighting with the Separatists, blurring the lines between which side if good and which is evil . The entire Mace Windu story is fantastic and has now less than three Dark Jedi! There are cameos galore here, with Tsui Choi and K kruhk from the Jedi Council: Acts Of War series and Master Sora Bulq, an extra from Episode II given depth.WHAT S BAD:Anakin. I find it very hard to believe that Obi-Wan hasn t noticed the darkness within him already. The Battle of Kamino isn t quite as epic as I d hoped either and I felt the Confederacy story was a little abrupt. No Star Wars fan should miss the Battle of Kamino.
